Flight and prepare chaos and a whole bunch of colleges closed as snowy huge freeze takes maintain

Hundreds of schools across Britain remained closed for a second day as heavy snow, freezing temperatures and widespread travel disruption has continued to affect large parts of the country.
In Scotland, schools in Aberdeenshire, Shetland and Orkney are shut, extending pupils’ holidays after weather conditions forced closures following the Christmas break. In England, families are waiting for updates after dozens of schools closed yesterday across Cheshire, Lancashire, Northumberland, Yorkshire, Lincoln and Norfolk.
Temperatures fell sharply overnight, with the coldest UK reading recorded at Eskdalemuir in Dumfries and Galloway, where it dropped to -10.1C (13.8F). England’s lowest temperature was -10.0C (14.0F) at Marham in Norfolk, while London, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Southampton all fell to -8C (18F).
