Kai Trump dangers wrath of grandpa Donald with ‘harmful’ politics remark in uncommon interview
Kai Trump has made it clear she has no intention of following in her grandfather’s presidential footsteps with an eyebrow-raising rare remark on politics.
The 18-year-old granddaughter of Donald Trump made her first podcast appearance this week when she was interviewed on Jake Paul‘s Impaulsive podcast where opened up on a range of topics, including her grandfather’s political rivals.
However, the aspiring golfer – the eldest of the president’s grandchildren – may have strayed into the Commander-in-Chief’s bad books when she weighed in on his 2024 election opponent, Kamala Harris.
Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, assured Paul that she had no ‘bad blood’ with the Democrat as she swore off a foray into politics of her own, branding it ‘dangerous.’
When asked by WWE star Paul about her opinions on Harris, she said: ‘To be honest with you, I stay out of politics completely. Like, I would never run and I don’t want anything to do with politics.
‘I feel like politics is such a dangerous thing and I think if both sides met in the middle everyone would be so much more happier and I think there’s radical left, there’s radical right and there’s a lot of people who get too extreme.

The teenager risked the wrath of her grandfather, Donald Trump, with her comment on politics
‘And that’s where social media really ties into it because social media kind of makes your Instagram or your feed be one way or the other and there’s not a lot of things on social media if you’re very much in the middle.
‘I think that kind of makes some people crazy and some people buy into it too much. I think that’s like the best way to say it. There’s no bad blood. I’m very much in the middle. It is what it is, they ran against each other.’
Finally, the budding golfer ended by offering an insight into Trump’s presidential future, as podcast host Paul pressed her on the possibility of her grandfather standing for a third term.
The teenager admitted that he has no plans to run again but left the door open by admitting ‘a lot could happen until 2028’.
The president has made a splash in the political sphere over the US’s military action in Venezuela and the removal of the country’s president, Nicolas Maduro.
Trump announced early Saturday morning that the US had taken Maduro and his wife Cilia on drug and weapon charges after ‘successfully’ carrying out a military strike in the capital of Caracas.
Maduro landed late Saturday afternoon at a small airport in New York City’s northern suburbs following the middle-of-the-night operation that extracted him and his wife, Cilia Flores, from their home in a military base in the capital, Caracas – an act that Maduro’s government called ‘imperialist.’
Maduro pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking and other charges at his defiant appearance in a New York court Monday, two days after being snatched by US forces in the stunning operation on his home in Caracas.

Maduro, 63, told a federal judge in Manhattan: ‘I’m innocent. I’m not guilty.’
His wife, who appeared at her arraignment with two bandages on her face, also pleaded not guilty to conspiring to send cocaine into the US and other gun and drug-related charges.
The couple face up to life in prison – and potentially the death sentence – if they are convicted of the several charges that US authorities have cited as justification for their lightning raid on Saturday.
While Kai isn’t eyeing a career in the Oval Office, she is zeroing in her sights on the fairways.
She may not have inherited her grandfather’s penchant for ‘dangerous’ politics but she has developed his talent for golf.
Later this year, she will be joining the University of Miami as a part of the 2026 signing class to play collegiate golf. She committed to the school back in August.
In November, she made her debut on the LPGA Tour – the world’s top women’s golf tour – alongside the likes of World No 2 Nelly Korda at The ANNIKA in Belleair, Florida.

And Kai, who has also made her mark as an influencer and social media star, has a well of expertise to tap into. Her mother, Vanessa, is dating Tiger Woods – their relationship was exclusively revealed by the Daily Mail back in March.
And Woods isn’t the only top golfer she can lean on. She started 2026 in major style, spending time with Masters champion Rory McIlroy on the driving range.
The 18-year-old posted footage of McIlroy ripping a drive on the range before sharing a picture of herself alongside only the sixth man to compete golf’s Grand Slam.
‘Best way to start the year,’ she wrote alongside the picture.
