Man discovered useless in common Liverpool metropolis centre lodge as police swarm the realm

Police cars and an ambulance swarmed a busy UK city centre hotel to find a body of a man.

Merseyside Police confirmed a call was made yesterday afternoon (January 16) to reports of an “unexpected death” of a man in his 40s at a hotel in Liverpool.

Officers attended the Malmaison Hotel on William Jessop Way at around 2:55pm after the man was already found dead at the scene.

A police presence remained on the scene overnight, according to the Liverpool Echo.

However, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the force to do believe there to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

The force did confirm that work on the scene is ongoing as investigation into the death continues.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Liverpool city centre following the unexpected death of a man this afternoon, Friday, January 16.

“At around 2.55pm, officers were called to the Malmaison Hotel on William Jessop Way to reports of a man in his 40s being sadly found deceased.

“Enquiries are ongoing at the scene and there are not initially believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
