‘Emperor’ Trump makes Russia rejoice as Europe ‘didn’t anticipate US risk’

Russian TV propagandists are jumping with joy after Donald Trump’s quest to obtain Greenland has seen threats of tariffs on European nations, including the UK.

Dubbed ‘Emperor’ Trump, as the panel believe he will continue his Presidential run past his term, Russian TV show “One’s Own Truth” said the actions of the US President are “truly tremendous” for the country.

The panel also stated that Europe has been caught completely off guard by Trump’s approach to taking Greenland., much to their delight.

The US president said he would charge the UK a 10% tariff “on any and all goods” sent to the US from February 1, increasing to 25% from June 1, until a deal is reached for Washington to purchase Greenland from Denmark.

Trump said the same would apply to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Finland – all of whom are members of NATO.

He has also not ruled out military action to achieve his aim of taking the territory from Denmark.

On the show, political scientist Sergey Stankevich said: “Right now, he (Trump) sees himself as the centre of the world and is obviously building this empire not for someone else, not for some figurative Vance in the future.

“The way I see it , the future of American elections are in jeopardy and Trump isn’t planning to go anywhere since he has such expansive plans.”

He later added: “Nonetheless, for Russia, this is truly tremendous. You can see, sober voices are appearing once again. Since Europe is now facing a threat from someone they would never anticipate it from.”

The panel then praised Russian president Putin for staying out of the Greenland matter while saying Russia’s interest in the territory shows “no logic”.

Sir Keir Starmer suggested he did not think Trump was genuinely prepared to use the US military to annex Greenland, and insisted there was no need for the UK to now take a side in the growing divide between the US and Europe.

He said: “I don’t think it’s right for us to choose between the US and Europe. That’s not a new position today. That’s the position I’ve consistently held, as have previous governments.

“Because we are allies with our European partners and allies with the US, and the strength in being able to keep both those alliances has served us well over the last 80 years.”
