I used to be a runner-up on The Traitors – I STILL get requested the identical damning query by followers two years on from the severely brutal finale
A former runner-up on The Traitors revealed fans still ask the same question about their experience – two years on from the brutal finale.
Model and disability advocate Mollie Pearce, 23, was one of the major players in series two of the BBC show.
Playing the game as a Faithful, she reached the final two only to be betrayed by her friend and Traitor, Harry Clark.
In another crushing twist, Mollie came close to voting Harry, 25, out of the game – only to opt for fellow Faithful Jaz Singh at the last minute.
Two years on, Mollie has opened up about how those memorable scenes have affected her life since.
She told the Spent podcast, in association with Nationwide: ‘I don’t wake up thinking about it.
The Traitors finalist Mollie Pearce revealed what fans still ask her – two years on from her series’ brutal finale
Mollie was heartbroken two years ago after realising she had been tricked by her friend Harry Clark throughout the process
In a gut-wrenching moment, Harry (pictured) admitted to Molly that he was a Traitor when they were the last two contestants remaining
‘I think the times I think about it is when people come up to me and ask me if I’m okay. Like, even still, after it’s been, what, two years now, people are still wondering if I’m okay.
‘I was obviously upset, but it wasn’t so much about the money.
‘I think, like, it’s such an intense game, and we’re away from our families, from so for such a long time, with no contact at all, and you get so, like, absorbed in it. And I think that was what it was, really, is I just I missed my family.’
Mollie continued: ‘ I felt like I’d let myself down and them. But as soon as I spoke to them, they were like, I like, called them up.
‘And I was obviously crying my eyes. I was like, I just lost all this money.
‘And they’re like, how are you? Like, we don’t care about the money. Like, how are you what’s been happening? Yeah. And it just like, kind of brings you back to reality.
‘I was like, oh, yeah, I literally have a lovely family to go home to. I’ve got a lovely life.
‘Like, what am I so upset about? Obviously, it was all a game, but I think you’re just so immersed in it when you’ve been there for that amount of time, like it feels so real, because that’s the beauty of the game, like they do it so well, so real.
‘So when you kind of step away from it, I was like, you know, it’s sad, but that money was never mine anyway.’
Meanwhile, Mollie also discussed the show’s ongoing fourth series – in particular remaining Traitors Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby.
She shared: ‘I am rooting for The Traitors a little bit on this one. I never have before.
‘I think Rachel and Stephen have done a really good job how Rachel has like, had Harriet went so hard in on her.
‘It was the most wild episode ever seen to go. From the beginning, I was like, Rachel’s gone. Like, that’s it. That’s her take down.
Speaking to the camera after Harry’s win was confirmed, Mollie acknowledged having almost voted him out – only to change her mind
Speaking to the Spent Podcast, Mollie addressed whether she would return to the castle for a hypothetical all-star series
Mollie also discussed the ongoing fourth series – and praised Traitor Rachel Duffy (pictured) for her gameplay
‘Next thing, we just see Harriet absolutely go mad, and then she’s gone home instead.’
In addition, the fan favourite revealed whether she would be up for returning in a hypothetical ‘All Star’ edition of The Traitors.
Mollie said: ‘Sign me up, of course. Oh, definitely.
‘But I do think it would either have to be like all faithfuls or traitors, because, again, I just think there’s that, like, lack of trust, or you’ve got a name for yourself, or something like that.
‘And I just think it wouldn’t be a fair game to the traitors, either.’
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail last year, Mollie addressed where she and Harry stand now.
She revealed: ‘Me and Harry are friends, it’s been such a long time now and there are no grudges.’
On whether his promise of a sunshine break ever materialised, she added: ‘It didn’t… but I never held him to it.
‘It’s his money, do you know what I mean? I can pay for my own holidays. It is what it is, but I can definitely sort myself out.’
Spent is available now on YouTube, and wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes are released every Tuesday.
The Traitors continues Wednesday on BBC One and iPlayer from 8pm.
