Amir Khan warns {couples} to not get married at his £11.5m marriage ceremony venue as he takes authorized motion in hire row with enterprise accomplice
Amir Khan has warned couples not to get married at his multi-million-pound wedding venue as he takes legal action against his business partner.
This comes after Khan claimed on X today that Mohammad Jaberansari, the director of luxury wedding venue ‘The Balmayna’ in Bolton, has not made any rental payments for almost three years, following the initial 18-month rent-free period.
Khan’s £11.5million luxury wedding venue hosted its first marriage after a series of hitches in May 2024.
The Balmayna – which translates as ‘enamelled’ in Arabic – features a waterfall, illuminated trees, and a river weaving its way through the floor.
The venue, a post career business venture for the former world championship boxer, sits next door to an auto body shop and car wash in the heart of Bolton, and back in January of 2024, it was surrounded by heaps of junk, including broken fridges, settees and dirty mattresses.
Khan previously announced that he was putting the property up for sale claiming he did not know how to run it, however he swiftly changed his mind a few months later after a reported uptake in bookings.
Khan took to X to warn potential customers against booking the venue due to the risk of losing their money.
He also claimed that Jaberansari of ‘Excellency’, who specialises in curating luxury wedding experiences, has violated regulations by utilising the upper floors for events without the main lift being installed.

Videos showed guests being serenaded by violins in front of palm trees and eating fruit canapés served by staff in bow ties, as they watched the bride arrive on a horse-drawn carriage and the groom in a Rolls Royce.
The former boxer also previously insisted he was ‘getting good rent’ from the business but wanted to hand the property over to someone else and focus on other projects.
Khan announced on X, in August 2024, that he was putting it up for sale – describing it to potential buyers as featuring ‘four floors, including three dedicated wedding floors and a rooftop events terrace’.
The former boxing world light-welterweight champion admitted he wanted to sell the business because he did not know how to run it.
He then had a change of mind as early last year, Khan revealed he no longer wanted to sell his luxury wedding venue.
‘I’ll be honest, the wedding venue is doing so well and bringing in so much money that I don’t want to sell it now’ he told Betway.
‘Also, it looks so nice, and it makes me happy that I’ve given 150 jobs to people in Bolton. I’m putting food on people’s plates and am looking after their livelihood, so it makes me happy that 150 people are working, getting a wage and working in a job.’
