Joshua Kershaw was last seen in the tourist town of Pattaya in Thailand on January 12, 2026. His mum Jenny has now confirmed his body has been found
The mum of a young man who went missing in Thailand for nine days has shared a heartbreaking update confirming his body has now been discovered.
Joshua Kershaw, 21, was last spotted in the tourist hotspot of Pattaya in Thailand on January 12, 2026.
He was supposed to catch a flight back from Bangkok on January 19 at 8.30pm local time, touching down at London Heathrow on January 20 at 6.25am.
But it was confirmed he failed to board this flight, sparking a search with UK authorities treating him as a high-risk missing person.
The family launched an urgent appeal to trace Joshua, from Grimsby, and a GoFundMe campaign was also established to assist with the effort.
However, this morning (January 21) his mum Jenny, from Wakefield, shared a devastating update, reports Yorkshire Live.
She wrote on Facebook: “As much as my heart is breaking right now. We have now located Josh.
“But unfortunately he was not alive. We are now trying to get his body back to the UK.”
Hundreds have already replied to the post offering their condolences and paying tribute to Joshua.
One commented: “So sorry Jen, thinking of you all right now. Been thinking of you all week, was praying he was safe. So sad, RIP Josh.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely heart breaking Jen. Thinking of you, your beautiful girls and family! Sending you all so much love.”
And another added: “Absolutely devasted for you all what a gorgeous boy he was inside and out. You’ve got this Jenny. you’ve got all of us. Love you so much xxxx.”
