WW3 on the brink as Trump sends ‘huge Armada’ to Iran that may ‘use violence’
Donald Trump says a “massive armada” of US ships is heading to Iran, issuing a chilling warning to Tehran that it must come to the table to negotiate a nuclear deal or risk further attack
Fears of a global conflict continued to grow on Wednesday after Donald Trump warned Iran a “massive Armada” is heading to the country.
The US president said “time is running out” to negotiate a nuclear weapons deal and threatened to unleash “far worse” than last year’s strikes on its nuclear facilities if an agreement was not reached.
He said the fleet, headed by Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, is “larger” than the one deployed to Venezuela and is “ready to fulfil its mission” in a chilling threat as Iran was reported to have killed up to 36,500 protestors in a brutal crackdown.
It comes after a senior Iranian official warned last week that the country will treat any attack against it “as an all-out war against us”.
Trump wrote on Truth Social: “A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose. Like with Venezuela, it is, ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfil its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary.
“Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate a fair and equitable deal – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – one that is good for all parties. Time is running out, it is truly of the essence!
“As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn’t, and there was Operation Midnight Hammer, a major destruction of Iran. The next attack will be far worse! Don’t make that happen again. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Trump previously threatened to attack Iran in support of anti-regime demonstrators, who have taken to the streets to protest the rogue Islamist state’s authoritarian regime.
Iranian officials reached out to the wider Middle East on Wednesday over the threat of a possible US military strike on the country. Two nations, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, have signaled they won’t allow their airspace to be used for any attack.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s top diploma has urged the Trump administration not to attack Iran and instead to restart nuclear talks with Tehran.
Foreign minister Hakan Fidan said: “It’s wrong to attack Iran. It’s wrong to start the war again. Iran is ready to negotiate on the nuclear file again.
“My advice has always been to our American friends: close the files one by one with the Iranians. Start with the nuclear issue and close it. Then move on to the others.”
