Drunk girls terrorise lodge as receptionist will get spat on and workers hit with cellphone
Three women left a Bournemouth hotel in chaos after a drunken rampage saw them smash up the lobby, spit at a receptionist, and strike a staff member with a phone
Three women went on a drunken rampage at a hotel, smashing up the lobby, spitting at a terrified receptionist and battering a worker with a phone. The brazen trio left a trail of destruction at the venue as they flipped tables, hurled objects and terrorised staff during their boozy outburst.
Kera McKeown, 19, Larisa Sumovskaja, 19, and Jasmine Orchard, 21, reportedly unleashed chaos at the Trouville Hotel in Bournemouth, Dorset. According to reports, they went on a drunken rampage through the reception area.
On April 19 last year, McKeown reportedly struck a male staff member over the head with a phone as she “trashed” the front desk.
Meanwhile, a frightened receptionist was forced to lock herself in the back office to escape the trio. Photographs taken after the incident reveal the extent of the destruction.
This included tables and chairs overturned, vases and plant pots smashed, and various items hurled around the lobby before the group finally left the scene, The Sun reported. A court consequently heard this wasn’t the first time the women had caused trouble.
Just five weeks earlier, Sumovskaja and Orchard had reportedly assaulted three nightclub staff after being ejected for drunken behaviour. Two months prior to that, the pair attacked a taxi driver before fleeing without paying the £38 fare.
Their attempt to dodge justice backfired when Sumovskaja, then 18, shared the police appeal on social media. She posted: “go like it guys xxx”, alongside dashcam images of herself and Orchard.
During the Trouville Hotel incident, two staff members were present at the reception around 11.20am when the women came downstairs from their rooms, as per The Sun. Unsure whether they were actual guests, staff challenged the group.
This prompted McKeown to retort: “Who do you think you’re talking to bro?” The receptionist informed them they would have to leave, but allowed them to collect their belongings first.
Reading from the receptionist’s statement at Poole Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Jason Spelman said: “Five minutes later they all came back down the stairs. Pink trainers [Sumovskaja] started shouting saying I was being rude to them.
“She was holding the fire extinguisher at this time. Blonde (McKeown) chipped in saying I tried to touch her inappropriately. I noticed she was holding a vodka bottle in her hand and started threatening me with it and said ‘I will punch you’.
“It escalated, I’m not sure why. I retreated against the back wall.”
McKeown then moved behind the desk and spat at the receptionist several times, although none of the attempts landed. The terrified staff member locked herself in the back room and called police, watching on CCTV as McKeown threw plant pots, pens, computer mice and overturned a table.
She then picked up the hotel phone and hurled it at a male member of staff, hitting him in the head. Mr Spelman told the court: “They seemed to be quite enjoying themselves.
“The whole reception area was trashed.” The receptionist later said she was “shocked to see the extent of the damage” and added: “I don’t know who they think they are.”
The court heard McKeown was the “main aggressor” with Sumovskaja the second most aggressive, while Orchard was “just being dragged along”, according to The Sun. Both McKeown and Sumovskaja, from Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and using or threatening unlawful violence.
Sentencing for Sumovskaja and McKeown will take place in March. Niall Theobald, representing Orchard, argued she was in a “rather different position” and requested immediate sentencing.
He said: “She was very little involved in any violence, she was drunk at the time and doesn’t remember much of the events. She regrets being there and being involved.”
Orchard reportedly received a 12-month conditional discharge for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence. She was also ordered to pay £111 in costs.
