Creepy influencer slammed for freeze-drying her lifeless canine and displaying it in glass case
Chloe Chung was left devastated when her darling dog passed away, but instead of burying the animal or cremating it — Hannah took a vastly different approach with her grief
A “creepy” influencer has been slammed for freeze-drying her dead dog and displaying it in a glass case – and using the pet to create content. Chloe Chung, 31, came under fire after she decided to show her 140,000 followers how she dealt with her canine’s departure.
Her bizarre move came after claiming she was constantly getting asked this particular question in her DMs on her various social media platforms.
But after bravely opening up on how she immortalised her beloved pup, the honesty backfired as “haters” came out of the woodwork. Her post has over 94,000 likes with people sharing their thoughts in the comment section on whether freeze-drying the dog was an appropriate thing to do.
“There’s one million haters but there’s also one million people that either didn’t know about this or want more information,” she told What’s The Jam. “I will say this was an extremely hard decision for me because she was my soul dog.
“It was nothing that I went into lightly and I’m glad it really worked out well. This was not taxidermy.
“She was freeze dried.” The post has nearly 5,000 comments from shocked viewers, who have demanded to know answers as to why she would do such a strange thing to her beloved pet.
One stunned viewer rushed to the comments section to ask: “Wow am I the only one who thinks this is creepy?” A second user added: “I don’t think I could do this to my dogs; they deserve dignity once they have passed — they aren’t an accessory to prance around with.”
Someone else said: “This is traumatizing.” A fourth launched a scathing attack, adding: “I couldn’t do that, coming home every time and seeing that lifeless body, it would break me too much, constantly reopening the wound.
“It’s better to keep my dog alive in my memory through videos and photos, but not the kind of thing I could do with a display case.” But the influencer also got some support.
One fan said: “If it makes you feel better that’s great. No judgment.
“When my furbaby of 20 years passed she instantly felt so many pounds lighter and her soul which is the essence was no longer with the body,” the comment added. “I did however save a piece of her fur and cremated a lock of my hair with her.”
