BREAKING Ghislaine Maxwell ‘pleads the Fifth’ and stays silent in Epstein probe
Ghislaine Maxwell has refused to answer questions about Jeffrey Epstein before a congressional committee investigating the US government’s handling of the Epstein files. It has been reported Maxwell, as expected has used a constitutional right known as the Fifth Amendment to refuse to answer questions.
Oversight Committee chairman James Comer: “This is obviously very disappointing, we had many questions to ask about the crimes she and Epstein committed, as well as questions about potential co-conspirators.
“We sincerely want to get to the truth for the American people, and justice for the survivors, that’s what this investigation is about.”

The closed-door hearing at Capitol Hill today (February 9) was “over before it began” according to reports.
Comer has also told Epstein that after speaking to Epstein survivors, it became clear that “that Maxwell was was a very bad person, and she committed a lot of crimes”. He said that he does not think Maxwell should be granted any type of immunity or clemency.
“I think it’s great that the Department of Justice is letting members of Congress come in and look at all the un-redacted versions of the documents,” he said. “So I think we’re finally going to get some answers, and hopefully at the end of the day, we can do what our objective is in this hearing – provide justice for the survivors.”
