NFL star rocked as much as Super Bowl LX in jail jumpsuit and shackles in alarming scenes

New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins walked into the Super Bowl in an outfit that had NFL fans and reporters alike doing a double take on Sunday

New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins guaranteed Super Bowl LX its first viral sensation well ahead of kick-off, turning up at Levi’s Stadium completely barefoot whilst sporting a prison-style jumpsuit complete with handcuffs, shackles and a face mask.

Hollins’ dramatic arrival instantly sparked bewildered responses from supporters and journalists as he made his way towards the changing room before Sunday’s clash between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. Whilst the Super Bowl is renowned for bold fashion choices, Hollins’ appearance was extraordinary even by those elevated standards.

The seasoned receiver, who stubbornly refuses to don footwear as part of his peculiar routine, sported a grey jumpsuit marked “Range 13” – a designation commonly linked to the ultra-secure section of the federal supermax facility in Florence, Colorado.

He topped off the ensemble with a Hannibal Lecter-esque mask, handcuffs secured around his wrists and clearly visible ankle restraints, whilst clutching a dark jacket before him as cameras tracked his entrance into the venue.

Despite how extreme the costume seemed, it perfectly matched Hollins’ standing across the league. The 32-year-old is infamous for his quirky behaviour, including seldom donning shoes, shunning vegetables and declining to use eating implements.

His pre-match entrances have evolved into quite the show throughout his playing days, though the Super Bowl platform took the spectacle to unprecedented heights.

Hollins was spotted holding a high school jersey emblazoned with “Warriors” and the name of Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, seemingly paying homage to Vrabel’s roots and the 1979 cult classic ‘The Warriors.’

This film has been a recurring theme in the Patriots’ locker room this season, embodying their “road warriors” mindset.

Despite his headline-grabbing entrance, Hollins has been a key player for New England on the pitch. He inked a two-year contract with the Patriots in March 2025 and ended the regular season with impressive stats: 46 catches for 550 yards and two touchdowns across 15 games, starting in 13 of them.

An abdominal injury saw Hollins placed on injured reserve in late December, but he bounced back just in time for the playoffs. He was back in action for the AFC Championship Game against Denver, where he caught two passes for 51 yards, contributing to the Patriots’ narrow 10-7 victory and securing their place in Super Bowl LX – the second Super Bowl appearance of his career.

Throughout his career, Hollins has consistently demonstrated his ability to cover ground, averaging 12.0 yards per catch this season. His standout performances include a 106-yard game earlier in the year against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The difference between Hollins’ arrival and the other Super Bowl entrances couldn’t have been more striking. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold turned up in a low-key ensemble clutching a coffee cup, whilst other stars chose more understated appearances before the match.
