A model has revealed how a side hustle of selling her erotic drawings transformed her life by helping her carve out a sexy online cosplay niche.
Sweetie Fox, named after one of her alter-egos, now rakes in over six figures a month from her creative and saucy cosplay work but once upon a time, she couldn’t even afford a coffee.
During her student years, the 24-year-old artist found herself struggling to pay her bills and unable to afford food. The only income she had was from doing drawings for commission until she started to offer out her hidden collection of erotic drawings, which she had been doing in private.
“Suddenly, for a student, I was making very good money I doubt I could’ve earned that much in a regular office job,” said Sweetie, who has 3.7million Instagram followers @swfx_real. “However, when I started, it was just a small social media page where I shared my art.
“People eventually began asking for commissions, but at first, it barely covered a coffee, let alone real life. When I entered university and discovered erotic art, I realised it paid far better on specialised platforms.
“I needed money for rent and food, so I made that choice. At one point, I was drawing around 20 commissions a month exhausting, but it kept me afloat.”
Sweetie was dedicated to art from as early as she could remember, with her parents pushing her to draw all the time. She started taking her work seriously at the age of 12, but when she became a teenager, she started to discover another interest boys.
“When I hit my teenage years and started getting curious about the opposite sex and sexuality in general, I began doing some erotic sketches,” Sweetie said. “I started to specialise in drawing large, muscular characters, so a lot of my commissions leaned toward gay bara themes, and couple size-difference dynamics.
“It really opened me up to the world of erotic art which escalated into the world of cosplay.”
As Sweetie began to explore her creative passions further, she discovered the world of cosplay, where people would dress up as their favourite fictional characters. With her artistic background, the youngster was enthralled by the idea of making her own outfits and turning her sketches into reality.
The US based Russian model then became the first of many cosplayers to enter the adult industry and now earns six figures a month on OnlyFans as she brings fans’ fantasies to life on the platform.
Sweetie said: “My interest in cosplay started after I watched my very first anime Berserk. I began experimenting on my own, trying out anime-style makeup and loose character-inspired looks, and my drawing skills actually helped a lot with that. But I didn’t fully commit to cosplay until 2019, when I started my adult career.
“Back then, combining adult content with cosplay felt exciting and fresh, especially since there weren’t many cosplayers in the adult space yet. My creative background lets me build things from scratch instead of relying on pre-made costumes or overused concepts like the ‘sexy maid’ or ‘nurse’ outfits.
“The most popular female action characters among my fans are definitely the big, well-known ones Black Widow, Makima, Tifa Lockhart, D.Va, and 2B. And of course, my original character, Sweetie Fox a playful girl with fox ears.”
Of her passionate following, she added: “Most of my fans don’t really see themselves as nerds or geeks. They’re just regular people who grew up watching cartoons and movies, and certain characters stayed with them on a subconscious level.
“For example, someone might have grown up watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and had a crush on April O’Neil and then they see me cosplay her, and it suddenly brings that teenage fantasy to life.
“I think that’s what really connects with people: familiar characters tied to nostalgia, reimagined through my own lens.”
