Arsenal are allegedly tracking Newcastle midfielder Lewis Miley. SportsBoom claim the Gunners have already dispatched scouts to observe the 19 year old talent in action for the Magpies, reports the Mirror.

Miley has caught the eye of Manchester City and Aston Villa, with reports suggesting that these Premier League heavyweights have marked him as a “must-watch” prospect. However, Newcastle United are determined to keep their young star.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is still smarting from the sale of midfielder Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest in July 2024 for £35m. The Magpies had let Anderson go due to PSR worries, and they’re keen not to repeat history with Miley, who could potentially become a Premier League and England sensation.

Miley’s importance to Howe’s squad is undeniable, having featured in 30 matches across all competitions this season. Arsenal, however, would be wise to monitor Newcastle’s financial health and, if necessary, swoop in during the summer transfer window, mirroring Anderson’s departure.

Havertz had just made his comeback after a lengthy absence, putting in some stellar performances where he bagged two goals and provided two assists in seven outings.

However, The Mail reports that the adaptable forward has been sidelined for several weeks with a muscle issue, having already missed the journey to Brentford on Thursday.

Considering the reported timeframe, Havertz could be absent for the upcoming five matches against Wigan, Wolves, Tottenham, Chelsea and Brighton.
