Horny Winter Olympics stars want extra condoms after 10,000 freebies run out in three days
The Milano Cortina Winter Olympics village has run out of condoms despite 10,000 being handed out, with an anonymous athlete making a public plea for more
The Winter Olympics village has already exhausted its condom supply despite 10,000 freebies being distributed to athletes.
The accommodation housing Olympians throughout the Games is notorious for steamy encounters, with numerous saucy stories surfacing over the decades. Officials attempt to prevent any potential issues by providing complimentary contraceptives.
However, while 200,000 were distributed at the Paris Summer Games in 2024, a paltry 10k were made available at Milano Cortina. Despite approximately 10,500 competitors being present in the French capital 18 months ago, compared to just under 3,000 stationed in northern Italy this month, the five-figure allocation has proven woefully inadequate.

An athlete speaking anonymously to Italian publication La Stampa on Thursday revealed: “The supplies sold out in just three days. They promised us more will arrive but who knows when.”
The infamous ‘anti-sex’ beds represent another tactic Olympic officials have allegedly deployed to curb off-camera activities. The stripped-back cardboard construction doesn’t seem to be proving effective, though.
This isn’t the first time condom supplies have been depleted before the closing ceremony. Sydney 2000 organisers were forced to find an additional 20,000 after their original 70k stock was used up.

An outbreak of an STI would naturally be catastrophic for the Games. The message delivered to athletes upon their arrival in Milan was: ‘”Health first: prevention and common sense.”
One former Olympic gold medallist revealed just how raunchy the village can become. In a 2012 interview with CNN, the anonymous competitor stated: “Anyone who wants to be naive and say they don’t know what’s going on in the village are lying to themselves.
“They know, the officials know, even the media. It’s not a secret, everyone knows! [Sex] is all part of the Olympic spirit. The International Olympic Committee wouldn’t say that, but it is, you can’t shy away from it.
“Why do you think they give away so many condoms? You talk, you go to your room. Let me say this… there were lots of volunteers and they were happy to help you with whatever your needs were.
“My roommate and I would put something on the door so we would know if the other was ‘busy’. I feel bad to say it but my coach actually guarded the door the night before me and my roommate were racing!
“But it didn’t affect me like that. When I raced after sex I felt light on my feet. We were young and most of the people I hung out with were single.”
