Olympian admits there’s ‘a number of intercourse’ within the athlete’s village and says it is fantastic

Olympic athletes are evidently more than happy to get their rocks off during the Games

A Spanish Olympic medallist has opened up about the steamy reality inside the Athletes’ Village, admitting there’s “lots of sex” going on – and insisting it’s a positive thing.

Triple jumper Ana Peleteiro, who claimed bronze at Tokyo 2020, described the Olympic Village as a place where years of intense training finally give way to release.

“There’s a lot of sex going on in the Olympic Village,” she told Spanish outlet RTVE. “Yes, there is a lot of sex. I can’t include myself now, since I’m a married woman.

“But imagine, everyone is ripped from training all year, everyone is in great shape, and you have been super focused on the goal all year. When you finally let loose, if it goes well, it’s time to celebrate, and if not, it’s time to drown your sorrows. It’s wonderful.”

Her comments come as fresh reports from the ongoing 2026 Winter Olympics highlight just how much action is still happening behind the scenes.

Organisers provided 10,000 free condoms for the roughly 3,000 athletes in the village – but according to Italian newspaper La Stampa, the entire stock ran out in just three days.

An anonymous athlete told the paper: “The supplies sold out in just three days. They promised us more will arrive but who knows when… In Paris [2024 Summer Olympics] the athletes received 300,000 condoms – two per day each – but the numbers for these Winter Games were significantly lower: not even 10,000.”

It’s not the first time supplies have vanished quickly. Back at Sydney 2000, officials had to rush-order another 20,000 condoms after the initial batch disappeared.

One former Olympic gold medallist previously told CNN the hook-ups are simply part of the experience. “Anyone who wants to be naive and say they don’t know what’s going on in the village are lying to themselves,” the athlete said.

“They know, the officials know, even the media. It’s not a secret, everyone knows! [Sex] is all part of the Olympic spirit. The International Olympic Committee wouldn’t say that, but it is, you can’t shy away from it.

“Why do you think they give away so many condoms? You talk, you go to your room. Let me say this… there were lots of volunteers and they were happy to help you with whatever your needs were. My roommate and I would put something on the door so we would know if the other was ‘busy’.

The anonymous competitor added that sex after competition left them feeling “light on my feet”, and described how some even had coaches or roommates helping keep watch.

While anti-sex cardboard beds were introduced in recent Games to curb activity, the latest shortage suggests they’re not having much impact.

Peleteiro, 30, framed the Village atmosphere positively – a chance for elite athletes to unwind after relentless preparation. The Village in Milan, named Cortina d’Ampezzo, is a temporary residential complex which houses athletes from all over the world.

Stories of wild parties, debauchery and even orgies are rife. While many athletes keep their exploits to themselves, others have been more than happy to lift the lid on what occurs away from the glare of the world’s media.

Legendary American snowboarder Shaun White once opened up about life inside the Olympic Village, boasting that the U.S. team threw the best “room parties.” During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, host Andy Cohen asked him which sport featured the horniest athletes. Skipping over his own discipline, White pointed to cross-country skiers and also described Australians as the “craziest party animals.”

Cohen went on to ask whether athletes ever worried about being watched or recorded during these gatherings. The three-time Olympic gold medallist responded candidly: “Yes, but we liked it!”

Stories of Olympic athletes’ escapades in the Village haven’t been limited to private rooms. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, for example, six athletes – reportedly Germans, Canadians, and Australians – were said to have taken part in what one unnamed skier described as a late-night “whirlpool party” that escalated into a “whirlpool orgy.”
