Hunt for Tube passenger seen smoking crack cocaine underneath a blanket on the Victoria Line
The British Transport Police are on the hunt for a Tube passenger seen smoking crack cocaine under a blanket on the Victoria Line.
A user on X shared a photo on Wednesday afternoon at 3.57pm of an individual dressed in black using a device concealed underneath a grey blanket.
Nicholas Lissack posted the incident on the social media platform and said: ‘I was just on the Victoria Line, and the man sitting next to me was quite literally smoking crack cocaine, trying to hide it under a blanket.
‘I saw the pipe, the lighter, and then he started aggressively tweaking out right there.’
‘This is what Britain has become. Broken,’ he added.
The post, which got over 200,000 views and 438 comments, was seen by British Transport Police, who responded: ‘Hi Nicholas, if you haven’t already, we urge you to report this to us via text on 616016.’
Commuters previously spoke to the Daily Mail about their encounters with blatant drug users on London’s Underground network.
In April last year, photos emerged of a ‘dirty, scruffy-looking’ male lighting a metal pipe on one carriage.
British Transport Police responded to the post urging the user to report the shocking incident
In 2024, footage posted on Reddit titled ‘London’s finest on the Tube’ showed a man with matted hair smoking crack
Unnerved passengers were forced to stand up and move away after the man, who had a ‘gormless grin’ on his face, started phlegming at the mouth and spitting on the floor.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander responded at the time that the shocking images would ‘concern’ Sir Sadiq Khan, who has seen violent crime rates steadily increase under his decade-long tenure as London Mayor.
Passengers are unashamedly using the Tube as their makeshift drugs lair across the network, with Transport for London staff seemingly powerless to act.
Commuters told the Daily Mail that they have had to contend with smelling cannabis at least twice a week on their packed daily 50-minute commute on the Elizabeth, Circle and District Line.
One female told us of feeling petrified as she sat on the Tube next to one male as they smoked Class A drug crack cocaine in front of pregnant women.
They said they had reported the drug use on the District Line through British Transport Police’s text service but never received a response, with the man happily getting off the carriage at Victoria.
Meanwhile, other commuters warned last year of terrifying ‘Devil Breath’ drug attacks in London.
The warning came from a woman who claimed that she was a victim of a mysterious woman whilst she travelled on the Elizabeth Line.
Also known as scopolamine or burundanga, the drug is derived from the Borrachero tree and was once used by the CIA as a truth serum.
There are now claims it is being weaponised in honey trap scams via dating apps such as Tinder and Grindr.
Victims are said to be rendered into a zombie-like state with as little as 10mg, making them easy to manipulate, hallucinate, and follow commands, sometimes with fatal consequences.
Some, however, claim the alleged scam is little more than an urban myth.
The Daily Mail has contacted British Transport Police and Transport for London for comment.
