TV chef Gino D’Acampo slashes worth of his Grade II listed townhouse by £2.1million after struggling to discover a purchaser

Shamed TV chef Gino D’Acampo has reduced the price of his £4.2 million Hertfordshire home to just £2.1million after struggling to sell it, the Daily Mail can reveal.

The Italian chef, 49, has knocked a fortune off the price for the seven-bedroom Grade II listed townhouse.

Gino – who one year ago this month had his upcoming shows on ITV removed over multiple claims of inappropriate conduct allegations – has been forced to reduce the price.

The impressive Georgian property in the upmarket town of Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, is now up for sale at £2.15million.

The latest reduction was last month after originally being put on the market last June. It is being sold by upmarket estate agents Savills.

It came at the same time he was said to be looking to move to Australia for work projects and after his restaurant empire racked up debts of £7.3million before going into administration.

One source said: ‘Gino has found out more than anyone that it is a buyer’s market at the moment. It’s very unpredictable. He will no doubt have been gutted that he has had to reduce the value.

‘It’s clear he has not been able to find a buyer who will pay what he wants for it. This is despite Hoddesdon being a really upmarket and trendy area.’

Gino and wife Jessica had spent a lot of time, money and effort on renovating the property where they live with children Luciano, 23, Rocco, 20, and Mia, 13.

The property advertisement online says: ‘London style in Hoddesdon. This elegant Grade II listed Georgian house is typical of properties situated in prime central London locations and offers spectacular accommodation extending to 4,720 sq ft.

‘The current owners have sympathetically restored the house with style and imagination to create an outstanding and impressive property. There are period features throughout typical of houses of this era including fireplaces in eight of the rooms, tall ceilings with roses, original ornate cornices and large shuttered windows which flood the rooms with natural light.’

The house has six bathrooms, a giant kitchen/breakfast room and a living area featuring a grand piano next to a spectacular Georgian fireplace.

Gino has previously pictured himself playing guitar in the room in front of the roaring fire.

Earlier this year, an ITV investigation found there were multiple claims of ‘unacceptable,’ ‘distressing’ and ‘horrendous’ treatment while working with Gino over more than 12 years.

It was also claimed ITV ignored complaints over the star’s ‘inappropriate’ towards his colleagues, which included ‘vile’ and ‘sexist’ comments made towards Holly Willoughby in 2018.

He told ITV News he ‘firmly denied’ all the allegations, which he called ‘deeply upsetting.
