Famous singer’s son crushed and left bare after being tortured over £430 debt

Marko Gvozdenović suffered broken ribs and bruising in the alleged attack in Belgrade, Serbia as his famous mum, Snežana Đurišić, said the incident made her feel ‘unwell’

A man was allegedly the victim of a savage attack after an argument over a debt he owed boiled over.

Marko Gvozdenović – the 46‑year‑old son of Serbian music star Snežana Đurišić – has been left with serious injuries following an incident inside an apartment in Vračar, Belgrade last weekend.

Cops were called to a flat in Serbia’s capital on Sunday (February 15) after Marko was apparently lured there by a man he knew, supposedly to settle a disagreement. Instead, what was meant to be a peaceful chat to resolve disagreements about the €500 (£430) debt allegedly turned into a violent assault.

According to local reports, Marko was repeatedly struck, suffering multiple broken ribs and extensive bruising before being rushed straight to hospital, where he remains under observation.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with one neighbour telling local media: “He was walking naked, the cameras recorded everything, there are them on several buildings. It’s scary how that building looks.

“Some drug addicts, problematic people gather there. It was chaos. I heard that Mark was beaten, that he barely made it out alive. It’s terrifying. He walked naked after the torture.”

Authorities have arrested at least one suspect, identified as M.C., who now faces charges including causing grievous bodily harm. Investigators are also looking into whether others were involved.

Snežana, whose singing career in the Balkan country spans almost 60 years, has since spoken publicly about her son’s ordeal: “Marko is Marko, you all know him, and what I can say is that he has never been violent and never beaten anyone.

“He went to the neighbour and what happened, happened – they beat him to the point where he ended up in the hospital. I visited him, he’s okay, he’s stable.”

She also slammed the attackers and denounced all violence. “People who participated in this arrogant, unpleasant event have been arrested.

“I am a fierce opponent of all violence and, regardless of who is who or who did what, no one has the right to maltreat or torment anyone,” the singer said.

Elsewhere, she described the moment she found about the attack, saying: “I didn’t faint, but even if I had, isn’t it normal for a mother to become unwell when she learns what happened to her child?

“Now I am fine because I know that he is fine, and now we go on. I have no fears, I believe in God and let it be as He says.”
