Team GB heartbreak in gripping Curling last as historic gold medal slips away

Team GB have suffered heartbreak in the Olympic final of the men’s curling as they had to settle for silver for the second time in three Olympics.
The four-man team, consisting of Hammy McMillan Jr, Bobby Lammie, Bruce Moat and Grant Hardie had the chance to become the first British men’s curling team to take gold since the inaugural Winter Olympics in 1924. But they fell to a 9-6 loss against Canada in the final.
It would have added to the gold medals won during the winter Olympics by Matt Weston, in the men’s Skeleton. Team GB have also claimed gold in the snowboard cross mixed relay through Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale.
Weston, along with Tabby Stoecker, claimed Britain’s third gold of the games in the mixed team skeleton.
It’s the first time that Britain has taken more than one gold medal in a single winter Olympics in the history of the games.
The gold medal match was a see-saw with both teams scoring when they had the hammer, and the lead therefore constantly changing hands.
In a crucial ninth end Canada scored three points to put them two up going into the final end, although GB had the hammer (final stone). They were unable to find the score of two that they needed to draw level.
