Armed man shot and killed after making an attempt to interrupt in to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property

An armed man has been shot dead after trying to enter Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago estate, according to the US Secret Service.

The man, aged in his early 20s, appeared to be armed with a shotgun and a fuel can as he attempted to enter the secure perimeter, the Secret Service said.

Although Trump often spends weekends at his resort, he was at the White House during this incident. The name of the person who was shot has not been released.

According to the Secret Service, he was “observed by the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago property carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can.” He was shot by Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff deputy at around 1:30am on Sunday, the agency said.
