A beauty and fashion influencer has tragically passed away at the age of 25 following a sudden medical incident.

Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva died on Saturday, February 21, as her family delivered the devestating news to he followers. Her heartbroken parents announced the tragic news, stating: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Maria Rita.”

In another post, they shared: “Unfortunately, Maria suffered a sudden illness and left us.” The exact cause of her death remains undisclosed. Hailing from São Bernardo do Campo in Brazil, Maria had garnered a following of more than 65,000 on TikTok and over 11,000 on Instagram.

She frequently shared beauty and fashion content, selfies, updates on her weight-loss journey, and glimpses of her travels – including trips to Peru and Uruguay.

Paying tribute, her friend Ligia wrote: “She was always such a lovely person during her time with me in the sewing and pattern-making studio at Fine Arts. I’m so very sorry.”

Jéssica added: “She was such a bright soul, always smiling, with a charisma like no other. Wherever she went, she won everyone over with her warmth and charm. Beautiful inside and out. I’m still struggling to take it all in. Rest in peace, princess.”

Maria’s funeral took place in São Bernardo do Campo on Sunday, February 22, and she is set to be laid to rest there today, February 23.

The Daily Star previously reported on the death of another influencer Bianca Dias, 27, from Brazil. The stunning influencer and mother-of-two tragically lost her life shocking her followers just days after going under the knife.

Her heart-broken family have said the 27-year-old fell ill at her family’s Guaruja beach house and was raced to hospital after reporting a shortness of breath. Her death days later came just 18 days after she had plastic surgery. The exact procedure Bianca had has not been disclosed. But fans of the influencer had speculated that liposuction and abdominoplasty, which are higher risk could be to blame.

Pulmonary embolisms are a risk associated with major cosmetic surgeries, especially if more than one is performed at the same time. The risk is highest in the first 48 hours following the procedure but remains a concern for up to 20 days later.

Before her death, the influencer had nearly 60,000 followers and was a well-known name in her home city of Maua, where her funeral will be held. Her Instagram bio read: “Living at my own pace, without rushing, and with purpose.”
