Russia manufacturers Britain ‘freak present’ over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor ‘circus’

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has waded into the Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor scandal, calling Britain a ‘freak show’ and alleging UK intelligence services knew what he was doing

Britain has been branded a “freak show” by the Vladimir Putin regime as it intervened in the controversy surrounding former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The dictator’s foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova claimed the UK’s establishment was paying the price for turning a blind eye for so long.

“Look at what’s happening in Britain now,” she said in an interview with state media outlet TASS. “It’s truly a freak show, God forgive me….Look at what’s happening there” – comparing the fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to a “circus”.

“A member of the royal family, a man who made not just decisions, but was empowered to implement British policy both domestically and internationally….They seemed to distance themselves from him, stripped him of some titles, and then took him to the police station for a few hours,” she said. “True, they later released him. What does this mean? It means they had this man right under their noses, under the noses of MI5 and MI6, British intelligence and special services, and they were perfectly aware of what he was doing.

“Because, of course, they tap all phones, they tap and spy on members of their elite, of course.”

The former Prince Andrew was freed from police custody under investigation late Thursday, after he became the first senior British royal in modern history to be arrested by police. He was detained earlier over suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Mountbatten-Windsor has refuted all charges levelled against him and has remained silent publicly regarding the more recent allegations of misconduct in public office.

Zakharova continued: “We remember how the wiretaps of Charles, Prince [now King] Charles, were periodically published, and so on. They’re engaged in intrigue, they use various materials. They knew what he was doing, and they covered it up.”

His Majesty King Charles pledged to “wholeheartedly co-operate” with police following his brother Andrew’s arrest, emphasising “the law must take its course.”

“At the same time, the ‘heinous scum’ in Britain “invented stories about Russia being bad, expelled our diplomats,” Zakharova said, “destroyed bilateral relations between people, between states, between societies.”

Zakharova – who holds the rank Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and is Moscow’s most senior woman diplomat – claimed “they have been concocting myths about Russia, about the alleged threat, about crimes that we, as they claimed, allegedly committed on their territory.

“Meanwhile, for so many years, all this scum was nesting right inside their communities, right at the heart of them, in the most luxurious districts of New York, London, and other European capitals, and in the United States of America.

“They were involved in all sorts of heinous crimes: corruption, human trafficking, forced prostitution, false imprisonment, and paedophilia, you name it.”

The ex-Prince has consistently refuted any allegations of misconduct in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
