Two Brits ‘knocked out’ in drunken avenue battle with bodybuilder in Thailand
The shocking scrap between a group of Brit lads and a bodybuilder happened on a busy street in Pattaya, known as Thailand’s ‘Sin City’, and left two hospitalised
Two Brits were knocked unconscious while trying to hold back a bodybuilder in a drunken street brawl in Thailand, its claimed.
Lutfi Khan, 29, was with a group of mates when they allegedly got into a scrap with the hulking tourist just as he and his girlfriend were leaving the infamous Walking Street in Pattaya, which is known as Thailand’s ‘Sin City’.
Despite being totally outnumbered, the fitness buff was able to more than hold his own in the brawl, and quickly began dominating the shocked Brits as a crowd of bystanders watched on.
Footage shows the Englishmen continuing to charge at the bodybuilder with his terrified girlfriend screaming at them to stop.
Eventually, Lufti was reportedly knocked out by a blow to the face.
A team of paramedics arrived, finding the unconscious Lutfi collapsed in a heap on the pavement. He had suffered a dislocated hip, several bruises, and a number of deep cuts to the face.
Another Brit can be seen lying nearby. Both were given first aid and taken to a local hospital for immediate treatment.
The bodybuilder remained at the scene throughout, and reportedly told authorities that he had been attacked first.
Police Captain Jittisuk Suthenitatwong of Pattaya City Police Station said: ‘The tourist was released after interrogation. We have to wait for the injured victims to recover before questioning them for further legal action.’
Onlooker Kittirach Sangprasert, 32, said he saw the brawling blokes fighting each other as they emerged from a beer bar.
He told a reporter: ‘Around two or three people tried to gang up on a tall, muscular foreigner who was with a Thai woman. But even though there were more of them, they still couldn’t overpower him.’
Tourists are regularly attacked or caught up in crime in Pattaya, which has led to it being dubbed ‘Sin City’.
Embarrassed officials in the central government have tried to launch tourism initiatives in order to attract families and rebrand Pattaya as a safe and wholesome destination.
Safety measures have also been introduced by the local tourism bodies, including brighter street lighting and state of the art CCTV.
Despite moderate success in their mission to clean up the town’s image, booze and sex still seem to remain by far its biggest draws.
