Footballer, 22, dies immediately as membership and household mourn his ‘irreparable loss’
A footballer has died suddenly aged just 22-years-old, prompting a flood of tributes to the tragic young star.
Pablo Jurado Serafín’s death has sent shockwaves through Mexico’s top-flight division, Liga MX. The promising young goalkeeper joined the youth ranks of Mexican giants Deportivo Toluca, who are currently second in the league, back in 2019.
He was part of the title contenders’ Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 squads, establishing himself as a key player in the youth set-up for one of Mexico’s most successful clubs, who have won 12 Liga MX titles and two CONCACAF Champions Cup titles. During his development, he also had a brief stint at third division side Club Valle de Bravo, before returning to the Estadio Nemesio Díez with Toluca.
