A glam footballer has made a bold career U-turn as fans celebrated her comeback.
Justine Elliott has given her fans something to cheer about as she announced her return to football by signing for a new club just weeks after posting an emotional message about quitting the beautiful game.
The goalkeeper, who previously played for Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley, had earlier posted on Instagram that she had decided to take a step back from football and hinted at a behind-the-scenes incident as the reason why she no longer felt comfortable at her previous club.

Alongside a picture of her playing in goal, she wrote: “After 18 years of muddy boots, early mornings, long drives, wins, losses, friendships, confidence, football has shaped so much of who I am as a person.
“So when I chose to take a step away, it wasn’t because I fell out of love with the game. It was because of an experience I had which changed how I felt in a space that used to feel like home and that has been really hard to sit with, especially when my whole life has been about the sport.
“I’ve questioned myself, I’ve replayed things in my head, and I’ve even wondered if I was overreacting. But the truth is no one should feel uncomfortable or small in a sport they’ve given nearly two decades of their life to, especially by anyone in power, and I know I’m not the only one who has felt this way.
“Women’s football is growing so quickly, which is amazing. But part of that growth has to be protecting the girls and women inside it. I’m still figuring out what my next step looks like, I just know I don’t want being silenced to be part of it anymore.
But Justine announced her return to the game as she posed next to a goalpost while being unveiled by Crewe Alexandra as a new signing.
Crewe confirmed Justine signed a short-term deal, with head coach Matt Fisher saying: “We’re really pleased to bring Justine into the group. She’s a goalkeeper with a lot of quality and a fantastic attitude.
“At this stage of the season, and considering why we need to bring a keeper in, you want players who are hungry and ready to fight for every moment.
“We’re entering a really exciting period for the club. The group has worked incredibly hard to put us into a strong position, and adding someone with Justine’s qualities will help us achieve our targets.”
Upon signing for the Alex, Justine said: “I’m really excited to join Crewe. It’s a club with big ambitions and a great group of players.
“The opportunity has come at exactly the right time, and I’m looking forward to getting started, working hard, and hopefully playing my part in a strong finish to the season.”
