Man will get so offended about pub’s karaoke machine being damaged he pulls out a gun
A karaoke-mad man sparked chaos outside a bar when, furious that he couldn’t sing his favourite tune, he whipped out a gun on another punter and fired a shot in the air
Finding the perfect note to a song you love can be challenging. But for one karaoke-mad bloke, the task was particularly high stakes.
Aaron Jablonski, 35, lost the plot when he couldn’t belt out his favourite tune at a Florida, USA bar and admitted to pulling a gun on a fellow punter in a bizarre late-night meltdown. Jablonski appeared in court earlier this month and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and firearms charges.
The incident itself took place last year, as wild scenes outside the Overtime Sports Bar in Clearwater unfolded. Jablonski, who’d been out on a whopping $40,000 (£30,000) bail, was immediately taken into custody after changing his plea.
He will reportedly find out how long he’ll be behind bars when he’s sentenced on March 31. The drama kicked off around 2:30am after Jablonski discovered the bar’s karaoke machine was out of action, the Smoking Gun reported.
According to police, the karaoke fan was “upset about the music” and stormed outside, where James Emery, 27, tried to talk him down. But instead of cooling off, Jablonski reportedly whipped out a Glock 9mm from his waistband, pointed it at Emery and snarled: “I don’t f****** care.”
Cops say he then fired a shot into the air for good measure. It turns out Jablonski was banned from having a gun in the first place, thanks to a 2012 conviction for battering a police officer.
His criminal record also includes drink-driving, disorderly conduct, theft, resisting arrest with violence, and breaking probation. However, it is unclear what Jablonski’s karaoke song of choice was. Court papers did not reveal what tune he was so desperate to sing.
Karaoke has a way of making singers emotional. Last year, a bunch of lads decided to try a bit of karaoke while on a stag do – but were instead faced with an unexpected first-class opera performance.
Groom-to-be Sam Stride, who runs the darts page JuicyDarts online, shared the moment an opera singer belted out the iconic song Nessun Dorma while in a small karaoke bar in the middle of Estonia. Posting the video on X (formerly known as Twitter), he wrote: “My stag so. Estonia.
“Random karaoke bar. Bloke comes in and smashes Nessun Dorma note-for-note and leaves.”
He added: “Once in a lifetime.” Commenters were just as shocked and delighted as Sam, with one penning: “This is f****** epic.”
The video, taken at Satumaa Karaoke Bar, captured a large group of men brought to their feet by the powerful performance as they sing along to the iconic piece of Italian opera, the Daily Star previously reported. The singer, dressed in an unassuming blue jacket, grabbed the microphone and belted out the tune to several onlookers. He hit every note well, with clear talent within opera.
Some social media comments left desperate pleas to find the singer. It didn’t take long, however, for the talent to be found.
A user wrote: “His name’s Timothy Richards (@thewelshtenor on instagram) – he also happens to be my old man.” Someone else shared a link to his website, in which Richards describes himself as The Welsh Tenor.
