Man and lady arrested after teenager killed in crash that noticed ‘automotive hit boys on bicycle and scooter’
A man and a woman have been arrested after a teenager was killed in a crash last night that saw a vehicle hit three teenage boys on bicycles and a push-scooter.
The pair, both in their 20s, were arrested today on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving over the prescribed limit and driving above the specified limit of a controlled drug, Bedfordshire police confirmed.
Officers were called to Greenfield Road in Flitwick at around 11.50pm on Friday night, after reports that a car had been involved in a crash.
Two of the boys were said to be travelling on a pushbike, and one was riding a push-along scooter.
One boy was pronounced dead at the scene, and the two others were taken to hospital, where they were treated for serious injuries.
The driver had left the scene before police officers arrived. Authorities found the vehicle – a blue BMW 318D – with ‘significant damage’ shortly after the fatal crash in a nearby street.
