Caitlyn Jenner claims late good friend Sophia Hutchins owed her practically half one million {dollars} earlier than tragic dying

Caitlyn Jenner is seeking to recoup nearly half a million dollars owed to her by her late friend Sophia Hutchins.

The 76-year-old Olympic gold medalist filed a creditor’s claim with Hutchins’s estate on September 19 of last year, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Jenner says she’s owed $439,095.88 from the estate of Hutchins, who acted as her manager before her tragic death on July 2, 2025, when she died in an ATV crash.

According to the creditor’s claim, Hutchins racked up significant debt on Jenner’s credit and debit cards — which she was authorized to do.

However, Hutchins was expected to repay Jenner for any personal expenses, but she died with significant unpaid debts.

The Daily Mail has reached out to attorneys for Jenner and Hutchins’s estate for comment.

Jenner’s claim form notes that Hutchins had asked her for cash advances amounting to $7,150 between February 22 and June 17 of last year, which were to be repaid at an unspecified future date.

There were also multiple personal purchases on Jenner’s cards from November 24, 2024, to July 2, 2025 — the day of Hutchins’s death — that remained unpaid.

In addition to the principal — $273,453.49 spent on Jenner’s credit card and $15,913.55 on her debit card — the reality star requested that Hutchins’s estate cover the interest that had accrued from the charges to the credit card, amounting to $9,890.65.

In her list of supporting facts, Jenner notes that she and Hutchins were forced to hire attorneys to represent them in a lawsuit, and they had agreed to split the legal costs evenly.

Jenner covered the attorney fees upfront ‘with the understanding that Decedent would reimburse her as soon as possible in the future.’

According to Jenner, Hutchins had already reimbursed her for $75,000 of their legal fees, but she still owed $133,509.58 at the time of her death.

Jenner included a more detailed breakdown of Hutchins’s alleged debts to her, including $242,491.20 to 1stdibs.com, a site that says it sells ‘vintage, antique and contemporary furniture, home décor, art, fine jewelry, watches and fashion.’

That amounted to the biggest single vendor, but Hutchins had also allegedly spent $19,500 of Jenner’s money at Tomlin Antiques, as well as $16,163.65 at Restoration Hardware, $6,905.04 at eBay, $3,106.44 to Fast Growing Trees and $379.32 on Shopify.

Around four months after Jenner filed her claim, Hutchins’s estate filed an approval to pay the full requested amount on March 30, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Hutchins — who repeatedly denied being in a romantic relationship with Jenner despite moving in together and being seemingly inseparable — died at 29 on July 2, 2025, after her ATV plunged 350 feet into a ravine.

Police later told the Daily Mail that speed was likely a factor in the crash, which occurred after Hutchins hit the bumper of another car with her ATV.

‘It looks like she may have been speeding and rear-ended the other car, the other party, and then that caused her to veer to the right and go off the cliff,’ Sgt. Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. ‘It doesn’t seem like she was following them. I think she just, she came up on them and then hit the car.’

Saucedo added that it appeared that Hutchins had attempted to steer clear of the car, but she had clipped its bumper, ‘causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there.’

No one else was injured in the crash, and emergency responders declared Hutchins dead at the scene.

In a statement to the Daily Mail at the time, Jenner said she was going through ‘tough times’ and didn’t ‘want to talk’ when she was spotted stopping by a Starbucks.
