BREAKING Tate Modern London evacuated as police, ambulance and fireplace crews swarm scene

Police, ambulances and fire crews have swarmed the Tate Modern gallery in London, with members of the public evacuated from the building.
One video on social media shows an explosive ordnance disposal lorry arriving at the museum. The Tate Modern and Metropolitan Police have not confirmed the nature of the incident. A witness claimed on X, formerly Twitter, that the “whole building has been closed off”.
The popular gallery and museum is located between Blackfriars and Southwark bridges and overlooks the River Thames.
The incident was reported at 11.30am on Wednesday (April 8). A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters have been called to assist police at an incident on Bankside. The Brigade was called at 1130. Two fire engines from Dowgate and Soho fire stations are at the scene.”
