Mr Sullivan, a 21-year-old film student, was tragically stabbed to death during a brawl at the viewpoint in Primrose Hill on Tuesday evening. Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, who is heading up the investigation, said: “My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family who continue to receive support from specialist officers at this unimaginably difficult time.

“Although we have made two arrests, my officers continue to work around the clock to trace everyone involved. I’d like to thank the public who have come forward with information so far.

“If you are yet to speak to us, or share footage from Tuesday relating to this incident, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Anything you submit could have a huge impact on our investigation.

“In the meantime, residents can expect to see an increased police presence as dedicated local officers continue patrols in Primrose Hill and the surrounding areas.”

Finbar Sullivan, 21, was stabbed at the popular north London lookout spot Primrose Hill after going to meet a university mate on the evening of Tuesday, April 7.

His mate AJ, thought to be reading economics at Nottingham University, was reportedly knifed in the hand and back as he battled to rescue Finbar.

Finbar had just bought a new video camera with cash from his 21st birthday and had ventured out to try the gadget and listen to music when it’s understood he was targeted by a stranger and stabbed.

Footage of the violence on Primrose Hill, north London, captured groups of young men brawling, with one lad appearing to brandish a blade to menace another young man.

Finbar’s father Chris Sullivan, 65, told the Daily Mail that when it became apparent he was in peril, his mate AJ attempted to shield him and was injured in the process.

“They went up there because it was a nice day. My son met his friend and he was also stabbed,” Chris said.

Chris said AJ was knifed in the back and in the hands as he was attempting to protect Finbar.

AJ is now believed to be on the mend after receiving medical treatment.

Asked why the two mates had been attacked, Chris said he didn’t know. “My son was very morally stood up… he always stood up for other people,” Chris said.

“Maybe they were bullying somebody, maybe they tried to mug him… we just don’t know.”

One witness, who asked not to be named, said: “The park was just so busy, I had gone with my mate after work and it was literally the busiest I have ever seen it because of the weather and it being Easter holidays.

“Then suddenly we heard this commotion from behind us, and a big brawl kicked off – people were throwing punches, people were screaming at others to stop.”
