Scottish Grand National 2026: King Of Answers leads runners and riders at Ayr Racecourse

The Scottish Grand National 2026 takes place at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday with King Of Answers heading the field as favourite for Lucinda Russell

The 21-horse field has been finalised for the Scottish Grand National, which is set to take place on Saturday.

English Grand National-winning handler Willie Mullins has surprised many by putting forward just one runner for the contest. He will be hoping to follow up his triumph with I Am Maximus last weekend through Road To Home. The handler has claimed the prize for the past two years with Macdermott and Captain Cody.

The market leader for the contest at Ayr is King Of Answers, prepared by Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore. Other prominent contenders include Kim Roque (prepared by Joseph O’Brien) and Quebecois, who managed a runner-up spot at Cheltenham.
