Lindsey Lohan’s dishevelled stepmother seen in new mugshot after arrest over ‘knife throw’ at Michael Lohan
Lindsay Lohan’s stepmother Kate Major appeared dishevelled and downcast in a newly released mugshot following her arrest over an alleged altercation with estranged husband Michael Lohan.
The former TV personality, 43, was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked for assaulting a family or household member after Michael claimed she threw a knife at him, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.
In the stark image, Major grimaced at the camera, her tousled, unevenly dyed hair a far cry from her once polished public appearances.
The arrest has since escalated into a legal and personal crisis, with Major – who has been arrested eight times over the past 15 years – appearing in court for her arraignment on Thursday.
Her lawyer told the court she could be left with nowhere to live, as a protective order barring contact with Michael – father of her two children – has effectively cut off her current housing situation, per TMZ.
The attorney added that Major is currently unemployed and struggling financially, warning she may be forced to rely on a shelter or temporary accommodation as the case unfolds.

Her lawyer went on to ask the judge to declare her ‘indigent’ as her financial situation continues to deteriorate.
The judge ultimately set her bond at $35,000 and imposed strict release conditions, including no contact with Michael, as well as bans on alcohol, drugs and weapons, per the outlet.
During the altercation, Major allegedly struck Michael in the face, leaving him with a bloody nose, sources told TMZ.
She had reportedly been at the home for a custody exchange involving their two sons, Landon, 13, and Logan, 11. (Michael also shares four children—Lindsay, 39, Michael Jr., 38, Aliana, 32, and Dakota, 29—with ex-wife Dina Lohan.)
Insiders claimed Major had been ‘irate about being woken up’ when Michael arrived, adding that ‘things escalated quickly’ into violence from there.
The latest incident comes more than a year after Lohan was arrested at the family’s Spring, Texas home in connection with a felony assault.
In the February 2025 exchange, Major accused Michael of flipping her out of a chair she had been sitting in days before.
She told authorities the incident left her with injuries that caused her ‘pain and discomfort.’

A spokesperson for the Harris County Sheriff’s Department told the Daily Mail last year that Major flagged officers out of concern she was being followed by Michael.
He was subsequently charged with ‘continuous violence against the family,’ triggering a probation violation that kept him behind bars until October 2025.
‘I’m thankful for my early release and being reunited with my boys,’ Lohan told TMZ after he was freed. ‘This should have never happened. It was wrong!
‘As usual, there’s a lot more to the story than what’s been reported. I’m just happy to be free and I’m sorry for the negative press it has caused my family.’
Michael and Major, a one-time entertainment reporter, exchanged vows in October 2014 in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, but Lindsay did not attend the nuptials.
The pair split in September of 2018 when Major told a Florida court that the marital union had been ‘irretrievably broken,’ as she asked for primary custody of their sons in addition to child support and alimony.
While the troubled tandem remain legally married, a source told TMZ in 2024 that ‘they’ve been estranged for a few years now.’
