Aldi and Tesco customers urged to return merchandise over meals security considerations
A number of food products have been recalled from UK supermarkets this week – here’s the full list of affected items and what to do
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is calling on households throughout the UK to inspect the contents of their fridges and cupboards following the recall of several products.
Food can be withdrawn for various reasons, such as contamination with pathogens like listeria or salmonella that could cause food poisoning, or due to manufacturing defects, including plastic or metal fragments being discovered in the product.
Missing or inaccurate allergen information can also trigger an allergen recall, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The FSA states: “Food businesses are responsible for recalling products that are unsafe.” The FSA collaborates closely with local authorities and the food industry to issue alerts to consumers when food items are withdrawn.
This week we have compiled products that have been recalled from Aldi, Tesco and Asda. When a product is withdrawn, the FSA supplies comprehensive information explaining why the item has been removed from sale. Customers are frequently advised to return the product to the shop, with no receipt required.
