Dodgers celebrity Freddie Freeman and his spouse Chelsea announce delivery of first daughter after fertility points noticed them flip to a surrogate

Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea have welcomed a fourth child – and their first daughter – after seeking alternative fertility options.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Freemans announced that their daughter London Rosemary Joy had arrived in the world on Sunday, April 19.

The Freemans were overwhelmed with congratulations in the comments under the Instagram post announcing London’s arrival – with well wishes from the likes of USWNT star Mallory Swanson, Fox NFL sideline reporter Charissa Thompson and tennis icon Billie Jean King.

In mid-March, the Freemans revealed the gender of their child, joyfully announcing they were expecting their first baby girl.

Back in February, the couple revealed they were expecting a baby after turning to surrogacy in the wake of past issues with fertility.

The couple previously welcomed their eldest child, Charlie (now age 9) within two years of getting married.

They then went down the surrogacy path after they struggled to get pregnant again.

But after successfully undergoing an embryo transfer, Chelsea discovered she was pregnant. They welcomed Brandon (age 5) via surrogacy before Chelsea gave birth to Max (age 5) just a few months later.

In 2024, Max was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome – a rare neurological disorder which left him with full-body paralysis.

He spent time in the pediatric ICU and Chelsea provided regular updates to the public as the family dealt with significant challenges behind closed doors at the time.

Eventually, Max regained mobility and reflexes, and ahead of the 2025 MLB season, Chelsea said he is ’80 per cent recovered’.

Just days before the family welcomed baby London to the world, they experienced a different medical scare for Chelsea.

The 34-year-old mother posted a photo of her arm with an IV attached to her Instagram story, providing a glimpse into her ‘real life’ struggles to her followers.

‘Real life today,’ Chelsea wrote alongside the image, revealing to her followers that she was at the hospital to undergo a routine colonoscopy procedure.

She admitted that she had been feeling anxious about the appointment, writing: ‘Had a colonoscopy this morning. Was so nervous but the procedure was really easy.’

Despite the ease of the medical test itself, the lifestyle influencer noted that the lead-up was the most difficult part, adding: ‘The prep was my least favorite part.’

Chelsea explained that the discomfort was well worth the effort, stating the visit was ‘worth it for the peace of mind’ regarding her long-term health and wellness.
