Roy Keane’s footballer future son-in-law opens up on relationship with Man United legend – and divulges the 2 phrases he hardly ever says – forward of wedding ceremony to Sky Sports pundit’s daughter this summer season
Taylor Harwood-Bellis has opened up on his relationship with future father-in-law Roy Keane ahead of marrying the Manchester United legend’s daughter in the summer.
The Southampton star and Leah Keane have been together since 2019 and got engaged in 2024. They welcomed a daughter, Iris, in December 2025.
And Harwood-Bellis, capped once by England, has revealed how Keane has influenced his career and provided guidance since entering into a relationship with his daughter.
‘He’s one of the people, barring my immediate family, who I know for a fact has only my interests in mind,’ he told The Sun.
‘The advice he gives me, I know he’s got my full interests at heart, so he has helped me with decisions.
‘He’s been to a few games. He’s got his own life, so he’s not going to sit around watching me too much.

‘He shows me lots of support and he doesn’t say well done too often, unless I’ve done something special.’
The 24-year-old added: ‘Maybe if we beat City, I might get a well done.’
Southampton will be hoping to cause a huge upset when they take on Manchester City in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday.
Sky Sports pundit Keane will not be at the game, however. Speaking on the Stick to Football Podcast, he said: ‘You think I’m going to bother him for tickets? No chance.’
Harwood-Bellis, who scored on his England debut in a 5-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in November 2024, proposed to Leah on a yacht on the Amalfi Coast in June 2024.
The defender revealed what it was like asking Keane, known for his no-nonsense attitude as a pundit and who had a reputation as a hardman as a player, for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

‘It is what it is when you’ve been with him [Keane] for a while, I like to think I’ve become part of the family,’ he said.
Leah is the fourth of Keane’s five children. Shannon, Caragh and Aidan are all older while Alanna is younger.
The family were recently rocked by the death of Keane’s mother, Marie, who passed away peacefully at a hospice last month.
Keane paid an emotional tribute to her and said it felt ‘like the heart has been ripped out of our chests’ during a funeral mass in County Cork.
