Chilling second ‘calm’ attacker is nicked after stabbing ex-wife and slitting her throat

This is the chilling moment a cold-blooded brute was hauled away by cops just minutes after knifing his ex-wife and slitting her throat. Clive Harris knifed Linda Harris three times in the chest before slashing at her hands and arms in the horrific attack.

The monster had followed Linda to her home in Evesham, Worcestershire, on December 26 last year, forcing his way into her flat and terrifyingly declaring: “I’m going to kill you now.”

During a horrifying 15-minute ordeal, Harris grabbed a 10-inch kitchen knife to savage the grandmother-of-four. In a final, stomach-churning act of cruelty, he pinned her over a sofa and “slowly slit” her throat.

Against all odds, the 64-year-old victim survived the bloodbath. She heroically managed to dial her daughter for help, who raced to the scene alongside emergency crews to find a sight of pure horror.

Harris appeared at Worcester Crown Court on April 13, where he pleaded guilty to attempted murder. Linda’s daughter, Katie Louise Armento, has now spoken out, saying she hopes her mother’s attacker will “rot in jail.”

Recalling how the horror began, mum-of-one Katie, 34, said: “She bumped into him at the Ambassador Club and said ‘leave me alone’. He followed her home and got into her flat. He knew her key safe, so we think that’s how he got in.

“He walked in and said ‘I’m going to kill you now’ .He walked over and grabbed a 10-inch knife from the kitchen and attacked her. He stabbed my mum three times in the chest.”

During the ordeal, Linda fought for her life, suffering gruesome injuries as she tried to fend off the blade.

Katie added: “She’s got a big, big scar, it’s got to be 12 inches long on her right arm. Two of her fingers have basically been paralysed – they are not moving really.

“Her right hand tendons were slit. With her left hand she grabbed the blade and her thumb was basically cut off. She had to have surgery to restore that.”

In a final, stomach-churning act of cruelty, Harris pinned Linda over a sofa to finish the job.

Katie said: “She remembers waking up and he had her bent over the sofa with her head held back. He got a second knife and slit her throat. He really went out to kill her.”

Katie recalled the harrowing moment the phone rang: “All I heard was ‘Kate, he’s stabbed me’. I rang the police as I knew it was him. He repeated in the background: ‘There is not a mark on you’.”

Footage captured by Katie shows the brute standing at a top window, peering down at the carnage he created before calmly walking into the arms of waiting cops.

Katie said: “He just walked down the stairs, so casually, with no blood on him. He’d cleaned himself off in the kitchen. I ran up to the flat and I’d never seen anything like it.

“She was covered head to toe in blood, her thumb hanging off. If I hadn’t got the call, I don’t know what would’ve happened. She likely wouldn’t have survived.”

Linda was blue-lighted to the QE Hospital in Birmingham for an eight-hour emergency surgery to sew her arms, neck and chest wounds back together. But while the physical wounds are closing, the mental scars remain raw.

Katie said: “She suffers so much now, he’s taken away everything from her. She won’t go out, she’s an absolute nervous wreck. She has PTSD and says she sees him.”

Following Harris’ guilty plea, his victim’s family are now demanding the maximum sentence for the “animal” who destroyed their lives.

Katie said: “It’s a relief that he has pleaded guilty. Our mother isn’t the same any more. She’s scared, she’s frightened, she’s jumpy.

“I hope he rots in prison and never sees the light of day again because he is an absolute animal. He’s a danger to women and other people.”

She added: “I want to raise awareness for domestic violence as a whole. Women feel stuck and feel like they can’t get out of relationships. The aftermath of what he’s done to her and all of us, it’s horrible.” Harris is due to be sentenced on June 22.
