  • Robot dogs with the heads of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Pablo Picasso have horrified online viewers who’ve branded them “nightmare” material.
  • The bizarre canine machines – topped with eerily lifelike silicone heads – have been filmed wandering around Berlin’s New National Gallery. They even “poo” out printed snapshots of images they record using built-in cameras.
  • The printouts are reworked by AI to match the persona on each robot’s back, creating pop-art for ‘Andy Warhol’ and similar styles. The dogs are part of an interactive work by American artist Beeple (Mike Winkelmann).
  • Exhibition organisers describe the piece as a critique of how tech platforms increasingly filter reality. Beeple said: “That’s an immense amount of power that I don’t think we’ve fully understood, especially because when they want to make a change, they don’t need to lobby the U.N.”
  • The work, entitled “Regular Animals,” was first shown at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025. Despite the exhibition’s popularity, clips of the robot dogs horrified people online.
  • One YouTube user wrote: “What a terrible time to have eyeballs.” Another penned: “The creepiest part about it is how well the faces work.”
  • The creepy creation left viewers deeply disturbed with comments ranging from “nightmare” to “frightening.”
