Ed Sheeran cheers on his beloved Ipswich FC as they get promoted again to the Premier League – after shaving his head following well being battle

Ed Sheeran watched from the stands at Portman Road Stadium as his beloved Ipswich Town FC were promoted back to the Premier League on Saturday. 

The singer, 35, who was raised in nearby Framlingham and is a life long supporter, witnessed his team beat Queens Park Rangers 3-0.

Ed shielded his eyes behind shades as he watched the dramatic match from his personnel box where he was joined by pals. 

The hitmaker kept warm in black Stone Island coat and sported a bushy beard after debuting his new shaved head following his battle with shingles. 

Following the team’s win their supporters stormed the pitch to celebrate after securing promotion on the final day of the Championship season.

It comes after Ed revealed he had shaved his head to ‘signify a fresh start’ and showed off his new look in a life update after spending a month battling shingles

The singer who is known for his shaggy ginger locks, debuted a buzzcut while posing for a photo on Tuesday. 

In an Instagram post, Ed revealed what he had been doing for the last month as he looks forward to heading back on tour. 

He wrote: ‘1. Yes I’ve shaved my hair. I wanted to shave it to signify a fresh start. A lot of new beginnings in my life atm. I Iove it, thinking of keeping it this way.

‘2. More Latam dates, so so excited for that. Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile. Details on my website, tickets etc etc. but SO excited to come back and play for you there, some of my fav countries and cities to play shows in, its been too long

‘3. Caught up with Martin Garrix recently, know that guy for over a decade now, I love him, what a bloke.’

Ed continued: ‘4. I’ve had shingles for the last month, wouldn’t recommend it, but on the mend now

‘5. Finally watched stranger things, season 4 bangs. 

‘6. Read a book called Demon Copperhead, I might be late to the party with that one, but its brilliant go check it out

Ed’s LOOP world tour got off to a flying start, raking in a staggering £5million per show during its opening leg.

The singer, whose net worth is estimated at £370million, kicked off the tour in Auckland, New Zealand, in January. 

According to The Mirror, the chart-topper shifted a huge 754,050 tickets over seven weeks, wrapping the run with a final show in Adelaide, Australia, in March. 

Music analytics firm Pollstar reported that the Oceania leg alone pulled in an eye-watering £74.2million in box office revenue. 

The tour spanned 17 shows across eight stadiums, averaging an impressive £5.32million per night.  

Those figures do not include additional income from sponsorships and merchandise, while the average ticket price came in at £98.40. 

Ed is now taking a well-earned break before heading to Latin America, where the next leg kicks off in Santo Domingo on May 9.
