Arsenal have been handed a major Premier League title boost after Manchester City were held to a draw with Everton on Monday night. City were forced to settle for a point in a 3-3 draw with the Toffees on Monday night, a result which hands Pep Guardiola’s side a major blow in the battle for the Premier League title.
City took the lead in the first half with a goal from Jeremy Doku and appeared likely to go on and secure all three points.
However, Everton responded with a brace from Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O’Brien to leave City trailing 3-1 going into the final minutes of the match.
City then responded with goals from Erling Haaland and another from Doku, but it was not enough for the visitors to get the victory on their trip to Merseyside.
The result means that City are now five points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, and now have the title race out of their hands with just four matches left to play.
City’s game in hand will see them face Crystal Palace later this month, but a win in that game would see the gap reduced to two points with the same number of games played.
Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend, where they will face West Ham at the London Stadium, before taking on Burnley and Crystal Palace in the final matches of the season for the Gunners.

This run-in will follow the second leg of the Champions League semi-final for Arsenal against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium.
City have four Premier League matches left to play this season, starting with a home clash against Brentford this weekend before hosting Palace in the rearranged fixture a few days later.
The FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium will follow, before an away trip to Bournemouth and a home clash against Aston Villa to complete the season.
