Need to know: man’s penis chopped off in shocking domestic row
- A man’s penis has been “permanently compromised” after his second wife allegedly chopped it off with a kitchen knife during a shocking domestic row in Italy.
- The horrific incident occurred in Angri, Campania, after the husband demanded his two wives live together in their new family home. The 35-year-old second wife was against cohabiting with the first wife, sparking the brutal disagreement.
- She allegedly castrated him during his post-lunch nap, with the husband waking up screaming in agony as blood poured from the injury. He stumbled onto a first-floor balcony crying for help.
- Two women passing by heard his pleas and managed to stem the bleeding until paramedics arrived. They put the detached penis on ice hoping it could be reattached, but surgeons said it was “permanently compromised.”
- Police found the wife wandering in shock, allegedly still holding the knife. She was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
- Officers are investigating whether the husband was drugged before the assault. Angelo Pisani, a domestic abuse lawyer, said: “This is a case of unprecedented violence.”
- The case has drawn comparisons to Lorena Bobbitt, who cut off her husband’s penis in 1993. Unlike this case, John Wayne Bobbitt’s organ was successfully reattached.
