Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt did the impossible Monday night: He managed to force President Donald Trump to finally go on record about a matter of pressing importance to the American people.
Yes, Hewitt finally got the president to reveal his second favorite fast food restaurant.
Fast food looms large in Trump’s legend, especially McDonald’s, and has been known to chow down on two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and a chocolate milkshake.

He also likes the chain so much that, during the 2024 campaign, he did a photo op behind the fry station at a McDonald’s in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
But Hewitt wanted to dig deeper than that and asked the president a real tough hard-hitting question.
“If there’s no McDonald’s around, Burger King or Wendy’s?” Hewitt probed.
Trump needed a second to process Hewitt’s question, but he did it in trademark style ― by starting with a tangent.

“Well, I’ll tell you… a friend of mine, sort of an old friend, but he’s not really a friend anymore … I don’t like him too much,” Trump babbled, before finally coming to the topic at hand.
“I’ve always liked Wendy’s. But the person that controls it, I don’t like him so much anymore, but Wendy’s is pretty good,” he said.

Trump may have been referring to Nelson Peltz, the former chairman of Wendy’s board, who was a longtime friend of his and made personal donations to his presidential campaign.
However, after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, Peltz said he was sorry he voted for Trump. He left Wendy’s in 2024.
HuffPost reached out to Wendy’s and Burger King for comment on Trump’s second favorite choice, but no one immediately responded.
