Rabies-ridden beaver bites boy in fury assault earlier than man throws animal into lake
Footage of a feral beaver charging and attacking a boy in a rabies fuelled assault has surfaced. Authorities have urged anyone who may have came in contact with the infected animal to step forward
A horrifying video has been captured of a furious rabies-infected beaver savagely attacking an eight-year-old boy before the feral animal was thrown back into a river.
During the brutal attack the beast – which later tested positive for rabies – jumps from the water’s edge to assault the small child. While the beast charged the minor his family frantically kicked at the rodent trying to get the animal to retreat.
Sadly police confirmed the beaver was successful in biting the boy in the thigh, despite his family’s efforts. Speaking to News 12, New Jersey police revealed what happened during the chaotic incident. Mahwah police said: “The child began to run away but tripped. The animal bit the child in the upper thigh and continued to attack him.”
Police have confirmed the boy had been fishing by the river’s edge at Lake Henry in the Continental Soldiers Park complex in Mahwah, New Jersey, at around 6pm on Sunday when the beaver attacked.
The boy was rushed to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, New York, for treatment afterwards. The extent of the boy’s injuries are currently unknown to the public. Authorities have added it is understood the same beaver may have attacked other visitors earlier that day.
The Township of Mahwah has issued a statement on social media following the attack and confirmed the aggressive beaver tested positive for rabies.
The statement read: “If you have had any contact with this animal, please notify the Mahwah Township Health Department immediately. You will need to be assessed by a doctor for medical treatment.
“Everyone is advised to avoid wildlife, as any warm-blooded animal can carry rabies.”
Police have urged anyone else who may have come in contact with the animal to make themselves known to authorities.
This animal incident follows another ordeal after a city was plunged into chaos after a rampaging wild boar charged out of the woods causing pandemonium.
Shocking footage has captured the moment the oversized beast tore down the middle of a road at full pelt, leaving terrified locals diving for cover. The drama unfolded in the city of Batman, Turkey, on Monday night (April 27). According to local reports, the animal wandered into the heart of the city before snapping and going on a random attacking spree.
