Victoria Beckham says her ‘horrible prepare dinner’ mum used the oven as a submitting cupboard
The 52-year-old former Spice Girl said mum Jacqueline was so hooked on using the microwave, she turned her oven into a filing cabinet
Victoria Beckham has revealed her mum used to use the oven as a filing cabinet.
The 52-year-old former Spice Girl said mum Jacqueline was hooked on using the microwave and never used the oven. Speaking this week, the mum-of-four – who has been married to David Beckham since 1999 – said her mum was ‘a great mother’, but a useless cook.
It comes as Victoria broke her silence on her own feud with son Brooklyn, and she said: “You know what my mother used her oven for? A filing cabinet.
“This was the 80s; if it didn’t go in the microwave, Mrs Adams wasn’t interested in cooking it.”
She added: “She was a great mum and a great wife, but cooking was never really her thing.
“For her, food was about being super, super quick. Mum was so busy driving us around, running me and my brother and sister to all of our activities. That’s part of the reason why she loved the microwave meals.”
She said that even when she left home to study at the Laine Theatre Arts college in Epsom she used to survive on Super Noodles and Frosties.
She said: “I ate very, very student-style food.
“Super Noodles, bowls and bowls of Frosties with skimmed milk, and those yogurts where you peel the wrapping off a corner of the container and dump a whole load of sugary god-knowswhat into it.
“When I joined the Spice Girls, we lived in a house together and still ate like students, fighting over the food in the fridge.”
