Costa Coffee to take over 26 Starbucks areas inside cinemas throughout the UK

Costa Coffee has announced a new partnership with Cineworld, bringing its coffee shops to up to 26 cinema locations across the UK, with the first stores set to open this summer.

Costa Coffee will open 26 new locations in former Starbucks branches inside Cineworld cinemas, it has been confirmed. Whether it’s a pre-screening chat or a post-film discussion, Cineworld patrons will soon be able to savour their preferred Costa Coffee beverages as part of their cinema outing – enhancing the big screen experience with added comfort.

The outlet expansion will unfold throughout the year, with the initial locations set to launch this summer, and most sites anticipated to open their doors by late 2026 – a full list can be seen below. Costa Coffee will also integrate existing staff members into the new outlets, ensuring a seamless transition for customers while preserving the warm service the brand is celebrated for.

The partnership strengthens Costa Coffee’s ongoing expansion into “bustling, lifestyle locations”, while helping Cineworld to improve its food and beverage provision for customers throughout the UK.

Andrew Miller, Express and Corporate Sales Director UK&I, Costa Coffee said: “We’re delighted to be working with Cineworld to bring Costa Coffee to more cinema-goers across the UK.

“Whether you’re heading in for the latest movie release or catching up with friends, we’re excited to make those moments even more enjoyable with great coffee in an enhanced cinema environment.”

Tim Sparrow, Director of Retail, Cineworld said: “This partnership marks an exciting step forward in enhancing Cineworld’s customer experience. The Costa Coffee partnership is re‐energising our coffee spaces and strengthening the role they play in the cinema experience.

“Together, we’re focused on quality, consistency and reach, creating warm and welcoming environments that enhance the visit while keeping cinema at the heart of everything we do.”
