Globetrotting star can seize Lockinge glory – Jason Heavey’s Saturday TV suggestions

NOTABLE SPEECH (2.35) can let his talent do the talking in the big race at Newbury on Saturday.

The brilliant winner of the 2,000 Guineas in 2024 is carving out a career as one of the world’s best ­milers and his profile has taken on a globetrotting theme.

His last four runs have been abroad and have included top-tier victories in Woodbine and at the Breeders’ Cup in Del Mar.

He went to Keeneland last month to try to plunder more riches but was desperately unlucky as he got no sort of run.

That race should at least put him spot-on for the Group One Boyle Sports Lockinge Stakes which has attracted a stellar field.

Notable Speech disappointed in the race 12 months ago when only fourth to Lead Artist but he had lacked a prep race and it was his first start of the year. He should be fitter this time and is fancied to see off some seriously talented rivals.

GOLDEN ORBIT (2.00) could be seeing stars if she can stride to success. The royal filly is currently 25-1 for the Oaks at Epsom.

But her price could tumble if she can dazzle in the Childwickbury Stud Fillies’ Trial Stakes.

The daughter of Sea The Stars won her only race in a warm Newmarket maiden last September under today’s pilot Rossa Ryan, which has worked out well form-wise.

She showed a good attitude and ­today’s Listed contest is a decent test with the 105-rated Esna, Sacred Ground and Allaire in opposition.

The Trade Nation London Gold Cup always takes some winning and can be informative for the rest of the season.

I liked the way AL AZD (3.45, trb) strode clear to win at Doncaster and the gelded son of Dubawi can make his presence felt at around the 6-1 mark. Sintra should go very well if he can back up his Ascot victory seven days ago.

Kalpana will be a warm order in the Sky Sports Racing Aston Park Stakes. She had a great year in 2025 culminating with a Group One

success on Champions Day. But she might be vulnerable first time out and giving weight to her rivals.

The ITV cameras are at Newmarket for three races and TWISTING PHYSICS (1.42) can step forward from a promising run at Newbury in the opener, the Daily Profit Boosts At BetMGM Handicap.

SILVER GHOST (2.50) gets the vote in the tricky looking Read Meg Nicholls’ Blog At betMGM Handicap while MIRACULOUS (3.27) was unlucky at Chester last week when he got no run and could trouble the judge in the Download The BetMGM Handicap.
