Man City win the FA Cup and full cup double as warning shot despatched to Arsenal
Manchester City have won their second trophy of the 2025/26 season as Pep Guardiola’s side bested Chelsea at Wembley to win the FA Cup
Manchester City have completed the domestic cup double as Antoine Semenyo’s strike separated themselves and Chelsea at Wembley on Saturdcya afternoon.
It’s almost an unwritten rule of football that cup finals don’t really live up to the hype – there’s too much on the line for fast-flowing football.
However, it was a moment of magic that separated the two sides after a game that had been void of class for large periods. Erling Haaland, so often at the centre of the City attack, turned provider as he fired a ball into the danger zone.

It was just behind Semenyo, but the quick thinking winger scooped the ball from behind him with a delightful flick into the far corner of Robert Sanchez’s goal.
It was the moment that truly sparked the game into life as Chelsea started to push for an equaliser, but were just missing that golden chance to really test James Trafford.
At the other end, meanwhile, Nico O’Reilly twice failed to deliver the final pass into the path of Haaland as City looked to put the result beyond doubt.
It’s the second piece of silverware City have managed to get their hands on this season, beating Arsenal 2-0 at Wembley earlier this season to lift the Carabao Cup.
However, it’s the third trophy in their eye-line that Pep Guardiola truly desires – another Premier League.
After a 3-3 slip-up against Everton, City are now two points behind the Gunners with two games left to play. And Mikel Arteta’s side have the chance to land the first blow on Sunday.
Saturday, however, might prove to be a huge confidence boost for Guardiola’s side. And City players are adamant they will fight until the very final day to try and win the Premier League.
