Body discovered at UK seashore magnificence spot as police urge folks to ‘keep away’
A body was discovered at Whiterocks Beach in Portrush on the North Coast on Sunday morning, with police cordons in place and the public asked to avoid the area
A body has been found on a scenic North Coast beach. Emergency services were called to Whiterocks Beach in Portrush on Sunday, with cordons still in place.
Deputy Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Richard Brown Stewart, expressed his sorrow and commended the efforts of the emergency services, reports Belfast Live.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the discovery of a body at the Whiterocks this morning,” he stated. “My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased at what will be an incredibly difficult and distressing time for them.
“I also want to pay tribute to the emergency services and all those involved in responding to the incident with professionalism, dignity and care. I would ask people to respect the privacy of the family as investigations continue.”
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police are currently in attendance after a body was found on the beach in Whiterocks today, Sunday 17th May.”
“Cordons are in place and the public is asked to avoid the area at this time.”
