Meet Jermaine Jenas’ glam new girlfriend as he strikes on from spouse with a lot youthful girl

Jermaine Jenas spends plenty of time away from the UK after splitting with his wife of 16 years and he is now dating a French beauty who looks a lot like his ex

Jermaine Jenas has shared a snap of his new girlfriend, Anne Leplaideur, for the first time since his marriage breakdown after 16 years.

The former Match of the Day pundit shared a mirror selfie while placing one hand on his 31-year-old partner’s bottom as they waited for a lift in Paris. The ex-Newcastle United and Tottenham midfielder, 43, was left by Ellie Penfold, the mother of three of his four children, last year. Their split came after the former The One Show host was dismissed by the BBC following complaints about his behaviour, having sent “inappropriate texts” to female colleagues.

Jermaine admitted to sending sexts and said he was “ashamed” of himself, but stressed he had done nothing illegal. The ex-England midfielder now enjoys a fresh start in Paris, where Leplaideur hails from. They reputedly began their romance towards the end of last year, according to The Sun.

Jenas’ family residence near Barnet went on the market for nearly £5million earlier this year. He and Ellie had called the six-bedroom house home with their four children for roughly two decades after purchasing it for around £3million in 2006.

He now frequently posts pictures of himself in the French capital across social media. Jenas recently added the caption ‘Bonjour’ to one upload.

While there, the 21-cap England international watched the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain at Le Parc des Princes. The former TNT Sports pundit co-presents a podcast called Wildcards alongside Jermaine Pennant.

Beyond football, he has appeared on various podcasts to discuss his experiences. Jenas also launched a production company, something he can now pursue following his BBC departure.

Jenas, who also played for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers, is also an avid golfer. He assisted Team England in retaining their Reignwood Icons of Football crown earlier this year at Robinswood Golf Club in Thailand.

The former Tottenham man is due to take part in current Spurs star James Maddison’s charity tournament later this month. The event at The Centurion Club generates funds for various charitable causes supporting those in need.

Meanwhile, his former wife recently posted on Instagram advising her followers, “You don’t need a man.” This came after she appeared to be tackling some DIY work with a drill.

Penfold confirmed her separation from Jenas last year, stating: “I never imagined I would have to share something so personal with the public, but given the situation, I feel it’s necessary.

“After 16 years together and 4 wonderful children, Jermaine and I have decided to part ways. We will remain friends and continue to co-parent. We kindly ask that you respect our children’s privacy during this challenging time. Thank you, Ellie.”

Speaking candidly about his break-up, Jenas said: “It was her decision and one that I had to accept. If it was up to me – and I think a lot of men are like this – I’d probably be prepared to be unhappy for the rest of my life if [it meant] I had my kids in it. If I have my kids, I’m quite happy to sacrifice.”

He added: “It’s a man thing. Relationships are what they are – they have highs, they have lows and people cheat – some people do, some people don’t, but you figure a lot of things out.

“The reality is we both were in a position where we were like ‘are we really happy?’ From her side of things, she’d ran the course more than probably me. But I was much more happy to go ‘I’ll be unhappy if I can stay in this house with you and these kids’. It wasn’t to be for her, so we went our separate ways and that is that.”
