Arsenal information: £34million summer time signing snubbed as large switch assertion made
Arsenal are Premier League champions for the first time since 2004 after Bournemouth’s draw with Manchester City confirmed the title
Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time since 2004. The Gunners clinched their maiden title under Mikel Arteta without even stepping onto the pitch on Tuesday, courtesy of Bournemouth’s 1-1 stalemate with Manchester City.
However, on-field triumphs haven’t deterred Arsenal from plotting transfer strategies for the summer. The Gunners’ top brass splashed out heavily on the squad last summer, shelling out over £250million in a record-breaking transfer window for the club.
By recruiting eight players, this season has already proven to be the most fruitful in the club’s recent history. Arteta is aware that reaching the summit is one thing but maintaining that position is another and he’ll lean on sporting director Andrea Berta once more to seal deals.

Josh Kroenke, Arsenal’s co-chairman and son of owner Stan Kroenke, has suggested another major transfer window awaits the club this summer. Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) have pumped substantial funds into the club throughout Arteta’s reign.
And the encouraging news for the Gunners supporters is that last year’s record transfer spending doesn’t seem to have been a singular occurrence, with the Kroenkes determined to press forward and guarantee they stay competitive domestically.
Penning a piece in the match-day programme before Arsenal’s clash with Burnley, Josh stated: “We will give everything we’ve got to win major trophies,” reports the Mirror.
“And you can rest assured that everyone at the club will continue the hard work to make the coming weeks unforgettable.
“We couldn’t have reached this point without the incredible support and backing you have given us once again, and we know you will create another electric atmosphere here tonight. The connection we feel with our supporters fills us with pride.
“Between us, we are building something very special and, wherever this month of May takes us, there will be no standing still when the season ends.”
Fabio Vieira snubbed
Hamburg have rejected the chance to secure Arsenal disappointment Fabio Vieira permanently from Arsenal for now. The Portuguese midfielder, who joined the Gunners in 2022 for £34m, moved to Hamburg last summer on a season-long loan.
Arsenal had anticipated their surplus midfielder would depart permanently this summer, given they included an option-to-buy clause with the German outfit when the arrangement was finalised. Nevertheless, that £19.16m option has been rejected by Hamburg.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in ensuring the club finished comfortably above the drop zone during their maiden campaign back in the top division, bagging seven goals and providing five assists in the league.
It is believed HSV would prefer to pay below €10m (£8.7m) to secure Vieira on a permanent basis, but that sum falls well short of the buy-option value, which was hurriedly negotiated between the clubs on transfer deadline day in September.
When questioned about the prospect of returning to Hamburg next season, Vieira told journalists: “I have to be open to everything. Let’s see what happens.
“No matter what the future brings, I was very happy here and will be forever grateful to the HSV. The club did everything for me, the support was amazing. I feel the love of the fans and the club. They all love me.”
